Eligibility for Bulk-Billed Home Sleep Study

To qualify for a Medicare bulk-billed home sleep study, you need to meet two essential requirements to ensure the sleep study is medically necessary.

1. Referral from a General Practitioner or Specialist: First, you will need a referral from your GP or a specialist. 

2. Meeting Screening Requirements: You must meet the screening criteria for the following:

• Epworth Sleepiness Scale (ESS): The ESS measures your daytime sleepiness. You need to score at least 8 on the ESS.
• Obstructive Sleep Apnea 50 (OSA 50):  OSA 50 assesses your risk for obstructive sleep apnea. You need to score at least 5 on the OSA 50
